Description
The Alfa Romeo Giulietta Ti is the epitome of the sporty, family car. Strongly desired by Giuseppe Luraghi, president of Alfa Romeo at the time, the Ti was also successfully used in rallies and hill-climb and endurance races. The 'TI' version, an acronym that stands for 'Turismo Internazionale', identified the model equipped with the more powerful engine of the Sprint, the coupé that had humiliated the fearsome Porsche 356s at the '56 Mille Miglia. In essence, the Giulietta TI was the object of desire for a large part of the Italian population. The car, chassis #08956, was produced in September 1958 in its original China Yellow ( 104 ) colour with its characteristic 'houndstooth' interior, which was the work of designer Jole Veneziani. It was sold by the Florence dealer, Rampanti, to Mr. Ferdinando Fabbbri, a gentleman driver born in 1897 in Marseilles (France), who at the age of 61 was attracted by the new Ti model with its 65 hp. It was registered on 11 November 1958 and paid 1, 525, 000 lire. The car retains original plates and documents and is a matching number. In 1991, only the bodywork was restored, preserving its original configuration. In 2007 it was homologated Asi targa oro and in 2016 the seats were rebuilt and new rubber over mats fitted. The mechanics have always been conservatively maintained with adequate maintenance. Pleasant to drive, the TI 1st series is a must-have piece in the collection of the discerning Alfa Romeo collector. First series, owned for a time by the Luraghi and Sala families. ASI Targa Oro homologated. Matching Number Ready for use
