1981 Harley Davidson FL Shovelhead. Imported to the UK in 1990.
Fitted with an S&S Shovelhead engine ( improvement on Harleys ), twin spark head conversion, recent new rear shocks fitted, complete new clutch fitted less than 1000 miles ago. I've own the bike coming up for 4 years. I can't vouch for the mileage, it's too old and been through too many hands to know for sure but mechanically, it all runs fine and does what a shovelhead should do and its pretty well oil tight. It's been maintained, not restored, it retains a character petina and that's it USP, if you want shiny, shiny, this is not the bike for you.
It's very comfy with the big seat and is at its best bumbling along at around 60 mph. It's registered as historic and as such, MOT & RFL exempt. All in all, a cool looking period Harley.
