For sale is my lovely Ducati Monster S4 Challenge. With the legendary 916 engine, this bike is an amazing machine and a piece of history. It would be a very handsome addition to any bike collection. This has only covered 8, 023 miles and is like new. It has all 3 keys plus the original sprocket. Here is a brief background on the S4 Challenge.
In late 2001 Ducati UK and BMP announced their intention to run the premier support series for the British Superbike Championship in the 2002 season - the Ducati Monster S4 Challenge. The Challenge commenced at the first round of the British Superbike Championship (April 1st 2002) with an entire grid of 916-engined Ducati S4's. All the machines were of the same specification and prepared by the GSE Racing organisation on behalf of Ducati UK. The bikes were enhanced by the fitment of race type components including exhausts and weight saving carbon fibre parts. Riders paid a fee of £20, 000 and at each meet took keys out of a hat to ensure fair play at the end of the season the riders got to keep one of the 40 machines used. This bike was retained by Ducati UK for about 3 years. Most were sold to dealers who stripped the race components and then sold the 916s on in road trim.
This bike has retained many of the race items fitted with lots of carbon components, oil cooler etc.
It rides extremely well with the open Termignoni carbon cans being a very enjoyable feature.
Just 8, 023 miles are on the clock, with belts, coolant, oil and filters were all changed at 8, 000 miles.
The current MOT was done last September and has only covered 1 mile since, (the ride home). This is the reason for selling.
Current V5C documentation old MOTs, various Ducati manuals etc. are included and pictured.
This bike needs nothing and is ready to goLots of history with the bike. Last service and belts were done 23 miles ago.
