Description
If you don't know much about these cars, when you buy one you'll wish you'd bought one years ago.
They are great fun to drive, fast, handle well, stop well but more importantly are looked at where ever you go ! Be careful, you'll attract lots of attention where ever you go !
As a serial builder of all things classic car, I have decided to move my Jag on to make space for the next project.
The car was completed in 2022 and has been used a lot since including a trip to the '23 Le Mans Classic.
This is the second C Type I have built and really love these cars. This is a great car to drive and despite the lack of full screen or roof, you are really quite well protected in the car.
It is a fast car and the 4. 2 engine will easily keep pace with any traffic. The engine is from a Series 3 XJ6 and has the larger inlet valves so giving it a bit more pep. The steering is precise and the brakes incredible. The tyres are Avon Turbosteel and give incredible grip.
The engine was rebuilt in 2021 with new mains big end bearings. Head checked, valves re-seated etc. The gearbox was a recon unit in 2021 and has done 5000 miles.
The clutch was replaced and I had the car tuned on a rolling road last summer at Regency Autos. It runs amazingly well.
The bodywork looks great and of course has no rust as it's fibreglass,
There is a spare tyre in the "boot" along with a scissor jack.
The dash is all aluminium and looks great. I've added a few features not found on the original cars such as the storage glove box next to the drivers seat.
The battery box in the engine bay is rubber insulated and generally stays dry.
It's a great car, well used and reliable,
