Description
This Jeep has had two owners
The Jeep has just passed its MOT on the 07/ 03/ 2025 with only two Technical comments and not advisories. (Rear lower shock bushes and brake fluid change recommended).
Meridian JEEP carried out the last dealer service on the 18/ 03/ 2004. However the Jeep has been a collector’s car its whole life and been owner serviced periodically. All fluids are in good order.
The vehicle was purchased from Westaway Chrysler & Mitsubishi in Northampton on the 15/ 11/ 2017. Registered to new keeper on 22/ 11/ 2017.
This jeep has exceptional low mileage due to the following history:
The Jeeps first owner was a car collector himself and this Jeep was apart of that collection until he decided to dispense with his car collection in 2017. We purchased this Jeep with a mere 14500 miles on the clock. It was purchased as a classic car and has only covered 6765 miles since its purchased in 2017. It has been one of our cherished classics during this time and has never been off road. It did spend 2 weeks as a family car at one point due to family car being repaired. Other than that it was taken out on weekends to give it a run. It was garage up until 2 years ago then moved to a carport. The car is sound mechanically and the underside and body are in excellent condition and the Jeep is 99% original. However given its age does have a few minor issues a potential buyer may wish to rectify but it wouldn't take much to get this Jeep to show standards.
Things that need attention are as follows: The Alloys are starting to show signs of minor corrosion and in my mind would benefit from a refurbishment, The car sits on it original tyres which are still in great condition but were swopped out for its MOT due to date, (As its being sold as a classic and original Jeep XJ these are what it is being sold on) It still has its original exhaust system and the catalytic converter is rattling. This could be changed by new owner to a OEM or upgraded to a stainless model. The bodywork has gained a few stone chips and parking dinks and I can locate 3 tiny rust spots but overall in fantastic condition. The underside was under sealed from new and has had constant cleaning drying and surface rust removed and re-treaded periodically. The headlights on XJ's rust and these have been replaced with OEM lights. The Harmonic Balancer (Crank shaft pulley) was changed prior to MOT as these can perish and fail. The drop links were also changed at this time as the rubbers had perished. Apart from the latter parts mentioned this Jeep is as it was when new. It does come with original Tow Bar and as can be seen from the photos it was fitted with Hella front spotlights. We bought this car as a classic Jeep of which we have had several over the years. They have all been amongst our favourite cars to own and drive. This one is in beautiful unrestored condition with what must be one of the lowest mileage in the UK with only some minor fixes to get it to show condition it is a real good collectors car. It could be a family car if needed but they are known to be a tad thirsty by today’s standards at 17 to 20 mpg. Parts are readily available for these cars and servicing and maintenance is relatively simple. They also have a good following so plenty of club information is available. If your looking for a classic original low mileage Jeep XJ come take a look you will not be disappointed
