Description
Billy is a 1979 Devon "Double top" VW campervan, first registered in June 1980. This conversion sleeps up to 4 adults in 2 double beds and is very easy to camp in.
Billy has a Camping Gaz electric coolbox and a 2 burner gas stove with a grill. There's lots of storage in the cupboard under the cooker and in the large unit alongside the back seat. 2 fold down seats allow 4 to sit around the dining table.
Billy's leisure battery powers the interior lights and 12 volt sockets while an electric hook up feeds 2 double mains sockets and charges the battery while camping. A Propex gas heater is installed under the back seat, giving the benefit of toasty temperatures regardless of the weather. Billy's mileage currently reads just under 25k miles but he has "been around the clock" during his time with us as his odometer only reads to 100k. Billy is tax and MOT exempt but, for safety, we have always MOT'd him and will do so again just prior to sale.
Billy's silver over "red rose pearl" paintwork always gets admiration when we are out and about. This is offset nicely by his stainless steel bumpers and 10-spoke alloy wheels. Billy is mildly lowered, giving him a purposeful stance along with greater stability on the open road.
