Description
Capots Vintage, specialist in sports and classic vehicles in Lyon, offers for sale a 1972 Porsche 911 2. 4 T: Introduced in 1964, the Porsche 911 (type 901) quickly became a benchmark among sports cars, evolving over the years with technical improvements and a gradual increase in power. In 1969, engine capacity was increased from 2. 0 to 2. 2 litres, then to 2. 4 litres in 1972, giving rise to the T, E and S versions. The 911 2. 4 TE developed 140 bhp with fuel injection. This '72 model was also distinguished by the unique presence of the "oil trap", a detail that was quickly abandoned the following year. As the identification documents provided by Porsche attest, this 2. 4 TE was delivered new to Italy on 26 October 1976, and is thus one of the few European versions to be injected from the factory. Here it is fitted with the type 911/ 57 (fuel injection) engine and features a complete restoration, covering the mechanicals, running gear, chassis, bodywork and interior. Matching colours, it is painted in its original Aubergine hue (code 4040), a perfect match for its perforated beige leather interior. Owned by its previous owner since 1992 and then acquired in 2016, our 911 underwent a meticulous restoration, which began as soon as it was purchased. It has benefited from a mechanical and electrical overhaul carried out by a recognised specialist in this model: the engine has been completely rebuilt and optimised, with the cylinders, high-compression pistons, special valve spring kit, camshaft, etc. refurbished. The Bosch Type 013 mechanical injection pump from the 911 2. 4 S has been perfectly fitted to the car, giving it more torque and a sportier feel. The same specialist has also carried out precision work on the front and rear running gear: everything has been completely rebuilt, as has the braking system (front and rear) with the installation of callipers, pads and ventilated discs from the 911 2. 4 S. It also has a completely overhauled 915-type 5-speed manual gearbox, and all the bodywork, leather interior and wheel rims have been completely restored. In order to preserve the authenticity of the model, the owner chose genuine Porsche parts for the finishing touches, such as the dashboard cap and the bodywork. The extensive file of documents and invoices reveals that a total of almost €100, 000 has been invested in restoring this 911. The car has covered almost 3, 000 km since being restored, and was serviced very recently by a Porsche specialist. There are no costs involved. We have a photo file of the restoration and a video presentation of the car. Possible trade-in for your sports car or collector's car.
