Description
Jaguar S Type 3. 8 Litre engine manual gearbox with overdrive. The engine starts on the button and runs beautifully, with loads of power and cruises comfortably at modern traffic speeds. A little tappet noise and light blue smoke, all in keeping with Jaguar engines.
Possibly the best colour combination of silver bodywork and red interior. Chrome Wire wheels.
The sumptuous red leather interior combines with the walnut dashboard to provide a luxurious feel and smell.
The boot capacity is vast and will cater for most family’s demands, including multiple sets of golf bags, multiple suitcases or shopping bags, as required!
All gauges and instruments work, as does the heater, with a modern detachable front mounted facia stereo/ cd player, fitting into the original location.
The front bumper shows some chrome crazing and a very small level of early rust.
The most desired of engines is fitted, the 3. 8 litre manual with overdrive, which is smooth and powerful. The car provides a luxurious feel and ride with a powerful capability and is happy to cruise at 70 mph.
This is a classic which provides luxury, elegance and power and the driving performance which has been written about by many motoring journalists, that trumps the well-respected MKII.
The mileage is believed to be accurate and is recorded as only 79, 428 on the new MOT 02/ 04/ 2025.
The steering remains original and provides the driver a true experience and feel of the road. The option of a power steering upgrade is easy and relatively simple and inexpensive, should it be desired.
There is an extensive history maintained by all previous owners, clearly indicating the care with which this car has had lavished on it, including its short holiday in California USA arriving back December 1989, again with documentation. The car comes with a Jaguar heritage certificate.
This is a car that will continue to give the new owner considerable satisfaction and enjoyment for years to come. Having ceased work and sold my BMW 550i, I was looking for a sensible four door family saloon, that would not lose money the moment I bought it. I found it!
My only mistake was not advising my wife!
Unfortunately despite enjoying classics she has a fused spine. The seats without head restraints on long journeys are not practical for her and could result in danger to her spine if involved in a collision.
Without us being able to enjoy the car together, and having other classics to maintain, I have made the decision to sell.
It is with great reluctance I am therefore placing the car for sale and hope that she finds an appropriate new owner who will enjoy and make use of the beautiful beast.
Serious enquires only, please.
