Description
I am selling my beloved Austin 7 Mk1 Ruby called Lizzy, so called because the original owner was Elizabeth, I have a picture of her with the car in the lake district. I have owned this car for three years and I am only selling it because I want to get my kids involved in the classic car scene so I need something bigger to transport a family of four and gear to car shows.
Tax and MOT exempt.
Solid bodywork with no welding needed. Paintwork in good condition, although there are a few minor imperfections that need touching up. I spoke to a bodywork guy and he advised just to build up these bits with brush able paint and buff in. The chrome work is all good with the exception of the back bumper which is flaking. All five wheels have been stripped and powder coated with new tyres and tubes fitted.
Seats are original and had a few minor repairs, the headlining is good. Full set of original pattern new rubber floor mats.
Mechanically sound, great runner, always starts first time and has never let me down. I use the car regularly through the summer months for school runs, errands and shows etc. Has had new engine cooling inlet\outlet and radiator pipes, new front double armed shock absorber, an upgrade from the original.
Brakes are all good.
Electrical systems only issue is the dynamo is not putting out a good enough charge, this doesn't affect its running, I keep the battery on a trickle charge and I've never had an issue. Voltage cut-out has been changed to smart diode cut out for reliability, original voltage cut out comes with car and can be refitted. Wiring loom is good but I bought a new cotton braided one to change it over, more for aesthetics, but I've not had the chance to fit it.
Will come with a number of spare parts (gearbox, radiator, dynamo, original shock absorber, vw distributor, wiring loom, full beam switch, misc rubber parts), manuals and car cover. I even have a few posters I use for display which can come with the car.
