Description
Yes the roof works for this money !
Reluctantly for sale as I have too many cars and one has to go. Bought a few months ago as I'm a big fan of these but realistically I have another toy for the summer (Lancia Fulvia) so alas this doesn't fit into our life sadly (and the wife also has a convertible)
These 939 Spiders are really rare - when did you last see one one the road ? Magnify that by this one being in Rubino Rosso which is super rare (there's only 1 other in the country - I believe in Scotland) and this is a car like no other. (well, literally one other !)
Car drives really well and being the 2. 4 JTDM 5 cylinder diesel pulls well too. I've had several of these and they truly look stunning.
Gear change is smooth and without issue. Doesn't overheat. Pulls and handles very well.
This one also has the rare alcantara style seats and trim spec and not the normal leather. Again this is really unusual. These are in really nice condition with no tears or wear.
I haven't lifted the car up at all so no idea as to the subframe condition although there is no mention of ANY rust throughout it's mot history. Just generally serviceable items like tyre wear etc.
Paintwork is fairly presentable. Being 1 of 2 it does deserve to have some money spent on the paintwork. It has a few blemishes/ marks as you'd expect of a vehicle of this age. Or of course you can use it as it is and still be proud of it. Personally If I were to keep it then I'd bite the bullet and have it done and it's value would increase accordingly. Photos do show the paintwork in a better light than it actually is but like I say - it is presentable and looks amazingly elegant in this colour.
The biggest issue with a lot of these cars is the roof not working (temporary roof failure etc). This one works perfectly fine and I've just changed the hydraulic pump fluid and sealed the clamshell. I've also Fabsiled/ waterproofed the roof.
The roof ECU was refurbished at some point in its past according to the security stickers on it.
17" wheels are decent with good tyres. Starts first time on the button.
Unfortunately there is no service history with the car. I would change the cambelt for piece of mind however this is factored into the really low price given the exclusivity of the car. I would guess the previous timing belt was changed at around 70, 000 miles as would be normal.
Mot is until 16 April. I see no reason for it not to pass as it's only done 2000 miles since the last one - again factored into the price.
Any inspection welcome
Car comes with 2 x keys that both work. V5 in my name.
Was serviced in November and has covered 109, 000 miles.
Known faults:
Shows a parking sensor fault which is quite common for these. Haven't had chance to investigate (freezing weather n all)
Rear lights have some condensation (again common). Will likely go when we actually get some warmth back in the air or you can buy some used ones for around £100 each
Car is currently SORN but you can drive it around our private car park to test (it does drive absolutely fine though)
It is HPi clear but you're welcome to do your own check for piece of mind of course.
Not looking for offers please & sorry I can't do any part exchange for the same reason as I'm selling.
I've actually broken 2 of these and returned £6000+ each but cannot bring myself to do that to this one due to the exclusivity of the colour and would like it to go to a good alfa enthusiast home. Someone who appreciates its rarity.
Genuine enquiries welcome.
