Description
I have own this bike for 7 1/ 2 years and the previous owner had it for 55 years. (Got proof as in old brown log book) the chrome is original have some rust pits in it.
The bike is in original condition, except for petrol tank and seat. (as they where far to gone to repair).
The engine has had new piston rings , valves, valve guides, 12 volt alternator and regulator and has bearing, big end check out.
The engine has 3 breathers on it and it doesn’t smoke or leak oil.
Also magneto has been reconditioned , which operated manually.
The revcounter is a genuine Smiths chronometric with small gears in it (not a cheap Indian magnetic type) .
The T/ T carb is standard as fitted to early Constellations , the tick over can be adjusted by a lever on handle bars (not standard )
The gearbox has close ratio gears in it (supplied by Hitchcocks and has had new seals and doesn’t leak.
The clutch has had new Barnett clutch plates, which are a lot better (from Hitchcocks)as it doesn’t slip or drag.
Fitted better central stand (still have original) as easily to get on stand,
The rear brake has had new linings and front wheel has been replace with a new wheel & tyre off a Royal Enfield Bullet, because it has a double action cam on it , which is a lot more powerful.(I still have original wheel & brake drums see pictures.
I have fitted indicators on bike at back rear of seat , so not to big , as I think spoils look of bike, they can be removed very easily.
