Italia Autosport are very proud to present for sale this beautiful example of a wonderfully restored Mercedes Benz 190 SL. This car is one of only 562 original factory RHD examples and retains matching numbers and verified by the factory datacard on file. It was acquired by its current owner in April 2016. Since then it has been put through an extensive restoration project and details of all elements done are available in our file. John Pogson owner of the Famous Italia Autosport has personally overseen the maintenance and keep of this car since 2021 where it remains today. : West Yorkshire

This work included replacement of Front and Rear wings, Sills, Headlamp panel, Rear Back Panel, Chassis and Floor panels, Boot Floor, Wheel Arch, Chassis Box Sections, Floor Box Sections, Floor Outriggers and OSR Wheel Arch.

Restoration Stage 2 carried out in 2016 Cost £10156

This included New Doors, Boot and Bonnet. Underside repaint. New Headlamps and Chrome Rings, Fuel Tank, Wheels Shot Blasted and Powder coated.

Restoration Stage 3 carried out in 2018 Cost £29188

Final rebuild of engine, suspension, fuels system and wiring. Interior refinish and refit. This wonderfully restored example was acquired by its current owner in April 2015. In his keep it has undergone this extensive restoration process and subsequently been stored and maintained at Italia Autosport. Introduced in 1955 as a more accessible alternative to the legendary 300SL, the 190SL quickly became a symbol of sophistication and performance. Combining Mercedes-Benz’s renowned craftsmanship with the thrill of open-top driving, it won the hearts of enthusiasts, celebrities, and collectors alike. It’s evocative appeal drew the affections of some of the 1960’s leaders of style and fashion. Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and Paul Newman were noteable admirers of this model.
This particular example is in Mercedes DB180 Metallic Silver with Red Leather and has undergone a three stage restoration which was completed in 2018.
