Description
This is my 1973 Dutton B type kit car, (yes it is registered as a Dutton B) not finished until 1979 and then laid up in 1986. I bought it in 2021 and have rebuilt it from the chassis up. The rebuild included new aluminium panels , new suspension , brakes and steering components. A new Autosparks wiring loom was also installed along with an Odyssey Extreme battery. The early 1300cc crossflow engine runs well, I had the flywheel skimmed and installed a new clutch kit. It has a 4 speed gearbox. A new aluminium radiator and exhaust were also fitted . The Triumph Spitfire 5. 5 J wheels were refurbished and fitted with new tyres. New petrol tank . The fibreglass was resprayed and is still bright however a few blemishes have developed on the bonnet. I do have the original hood , side screens and windscreen, if you wanted to revert it back to the original set up.
I have the original buff log book of the donor vehicle which indicates the implementation of the new Dutton chassis number in relation to the registration ,(along with past MOTs , tax discs and receipts) Tax and Mot exempt , the registration is also transferable.
It is great fun to drive and the only reason I am selling it is because I have too many cars and am not really using it enough.
Happy to answer any questions.
