Description
Launched in 1955 as Ford's answer to the Chevrolet Corvette, the Thunderbird quickly evolved from a sporty roadster into a luxurious grand tourer. The 1963 model belongs to the third generation, often nicknamed the 'Bullet Bird' because of its sleek, futuristic design. The Roadster version, with its distinctive tonneau cover and concealed rear seats, was designed to rival the most prestigious European cars of the time - a true jewel of motoring history. Produced in just 455 examples, this convertible version is a rarity highly prized by collectors. An exceptional history This Thunderbird was bought new in 1963 by a certain Mr. Jackson in California. After travelling some 18, 000 miles, he decided to sell it in 1985 to Mr. George Watts, a renowned collector who exhibited it in his museum for 5 years. In 1990, the car changed ownership and joined the collection of Mr. Barry Konier, where it was displayed in his showroom until 1995. In 2003, the Ford Thunderbird was imported into Germany, and in 2004 it was bought by a Zurich enthusiast at auction. Since then, it has been sold twice, but has always been preserved with the utmost care. Impeccable original condition With only 41, 000 original miles on the clock, this Thunderbird has never been restored, which testifies to its excellent state of preservation. The car's history is fully documented, including invoices and old purchase contracts. The full history is available on paper
