Description
Reluctantly, due to health reasons, I am putting my Black, 1989 MG Metro Turbo up for sale. I purchased the car in June 2009 and feel it needs to go to someone who will appreciate and enjoy owning such a rare car.
The current mileage is 64210 and has a valid MOT until November 2025.
I am only the second owner of this car, and there is an extensive history file, including six, national car magazines that have featured the car. The car is well known to the Metro Owners Club and the MG Car Club FWD Register and featured on the club stand at the 2022 Classic Car Show, held at the NEC.
Hardened exhaust valve seats have been fitted allowing the car to run on unleaded petrol (E5 Super Unleaded). A new battery was fitted last year, and the rear brakes were refurbished in 2023.
The body work is in good condition, due to it being garaged all its life and only occasionally driven when wet. In 2012, it had a partial respray to cure spider rust on the bonnet, roof and tailgate and rust bubbling at the bottom of the doors (new metal was let in). A new heater matrix is ready to be fitted and the suspension spheres will need re-gassing soon.
The Grey interior is in excellent condition for its age, showing very little signs of wear with the contrasting red seatbelts and carpets also in excellent condition. This is a very rare car with very few left on the road mainly because the engines were removed to be used in Classic Minis.
A fun car to drive that turns heads and has been featured at many classic car shows and magazines.
