1961 ford thunderbird lowrider
It has the 390fe big block v8 and automatic gearbox.
2 door pillarless car with electric windows, and an electric drivers seat, Aircon has been removed as wasn't working.
Swing away steering wheel, with power steering.
Its running hydraulics, 4 showtime pumps and 6 batteries with 10 switches, can be wired for either 24v or 36v.
The bit I absolutely fell in love with, was the interior! it's a full crushed velvet interior and white sparkly shag pile carpet, the workmanship is great and though not to everyone's taste, it certainly draws a crowd.
I've fitted 4 focal speakers (a pair on each door) and a 10" sub in the boot, there's an amp under each seat.
14" wire wheels, these are showing some rust spots now, they always do eventually
Has a 4 link on the rear axle and I've just replaced the polybushes and strengthened the 4 link bars.
The bodywork is getting a bit tatty, it has its marks and some paint blistering here and there, it is a 1961 car after all. I've even managed to source a replacement rear window panel that isn't rusty! A rare find, just need to paint it the correct white
The floors also seem solid.
The chrome work has got pitting, but alot of the shiny bits are stainless so polish up really nice. I do have a second pair of bumpers with much better chrome that come with the car.
I have reduced the car to 12k as there are some bits on the bodywork that need attention, and the wheels are starting to look tatty.
It is a running and driving car, it does leak a little oil (could do with a new sump as i think theres a pinhole in this one where I moved the sump plug to the side to stop it hitting the floor.
This car ALWAYS gets lots of attention, either just parked on the street or at a car show, from the young and the older crowd.
Bear in mind, it is a lowrider on hydraulics, so it is a bouncier ride than a car on more conventional suspension.
Price is £12, 000 with both sets of bumpers
May Part ex for something smaller and cheaper with cash my way, but don't exactly know what until I see it, try me.
Lack of room is dictating the sale
