Description
Selling my much loved VW T25 which has undergone extensive mechanical and structural restoration work during my last 6 years of ownership.
In summary she’s a 4 berth Camper fitted out with the usual “rock ‘n roll” bed (Including 2x 3-point seat belts) and a bunk bed in the roof area. Kitchen including tap, sink, gas hob and grill, fully electric Just Kampers compressor fridge-freezer and ample storage. Leisure battery and electric hook up combo for powering sockets, interior lights and fridge as required. Curtains all round.
Externally there is a slide-in rail for an additional 4-berth drive-away awning which will also be included in the sale if required.
Specific bodywork undertaken is listed below, but the body overall is in really excellent condition for age; all of the seams (Which these suffer badly with due to the filler cracking) have been cleaned out and / or replaced as necessary prior to a full respray. There are a couple of minor blemishes as you’d expect from a 37 year old van, but she is structurally very clean and cosmetically good.
The following work has been undertaken (Photographs and receipts available) in my ownership:
Mechanical Work:
- Original 1. 6TD engine replaced with reconditioned 1. 9TD “AAZ” engine (Correctly registered with DVLA)
- Replacement clutch
- Reconditioned 5-speed gearbox by Devon & Cornwall Transmissions of Plymouth
- All coolant hoses, fuel lines, brake lines and brake hoses replaced
- New rear drums and wheel cylinders
- New front callipers
- 4x new tyres (Uniroyal Rain Tyres) date coded 2021 with < 5000 miles
Interior Work:
- Front seats and “rock ‘n roll” bed re-upholstered in matching marine-grade vinyl
- New interior comprising new cupboard units and both roof and floor lockers
- Dashboard fan unit replaced
- New under-floor diesel heater
Bodywork:
- Replacement front valance (Common rust area behind front bumper)
- Replacement windscreen surround
- Both front steps and arches replaced
- Inner and outer sills on both sides
- O/ S middle panel replaced
- Floor repaired
- All-over respray in original VW White in April 2021
- All body work undertaken by long-established and well respected local classic vehicle specialist. Photos available upon request.
MOT until January 2026 with no advisories. Any viewing / inspection welcome. Change of personal circumstances forces very reluctant sale of a van we’ve had much fun in!
