Description
1970 Porsche 911T LHD
Matching numbers, US car undergoing a complete restoration at Miles Classic.
Currently bodywork has been fully restored, having been media blasted and hand rubbed to bare metal, all evidence of rust and rot has been removed and expertly replaced with the best available body repair panels and bespoke made parts.
The underside, cockpit, engine bay and boot area have been prepared for paint with edge to edge seam sealer and a combination of epoxy primer, spray filler, high build primer, 3M rubberised protection finish where required and solvent base colour and lacquer. The materials were rubbed down between coats to present a show standard finish in the original colour of Conda Green.
The “A” surfaces and outer panels are prepared to primer stage and are ready for the top coat treatment.
All running gear has been removed, stripped and appropriately media blasted and painted. Sub-assemblies have been rebuilt using all new serviceable parts, some parts have been reconditioned to as new and other items will be as new fitted upon the requirements of the new owner.
The gearbox has been fully reconditioned by Mike Bainbridge and the engine has undergone a complete rebuild with all new parts and is due to be ready shortly.
The important elements of the interior are with the car but will require a complete restoration. At the moment there is the option of an O/ E finish or bespoke to personal taste.
This is an ongoing restoration project advertised for sale to allow a new owner to part spec his or her own completed car. At this stage, we are still able to consider a change of colour as well as things such as suspension set up, engine carburation/ injection and interior. It is a wonderful opportunity to build a classic 911.
