Rare to find such a low mileage clean example. Glorious Morocco Red metallic paint, sparkles in the sun. Long MOT, ready to drive away and enjoy this Spring.

Engine and drive train.
Runs and drives like a dream. Smooth engine, with good oil pressure, gets up to temp quickly, runs smoothly at normal temperature. No warning lights.
Smooth gearbox, smooth suspension, no knocks, rides and handles great, tracks straight, brakes are sharp, plenty of meat on the pads, diff is quiet.

Interior
Great condition all round.
Only minor wear on the drivers piping on the outer bolster. Otherwise great.
Wood veneers and leather generally all good as can be for a Jaguar of this age. Original carpets all present and decent.
All trim and fixings present and correct.
Headlining is pinned up at the rear section. So it’s not sagging and hardly noticeable, but it would need recovering if you want a perfect headlining.

Wheels & Tyres
All tyres have good tread. 3x as new tread 7. 5mm. 1x different tread 6m.
Wheels 16” Dimples style. these have previously been restored, but not that well as the finish is letting go in places. They look fine from a distance, but up close imperfections are apparent. They would need shot blast and powder coat to look perfect.

Paint and bodywork/ exterior
All lighting in Nice condition.
Very shiny paint. It has had some paintwork & bodywork in the past.
Nice condition boot badges.
Generally very straight all over. Only minor dinks and scratches.
Front wings, rear arches, sills, bonnet boot lid, A posts, boot floor, are all great. No rust.
Some bubbling on the RH rear deck, and LH D post.
Very slight bubbling in a few spots on the sun roof panel.
Anyone who knows XJ40 will recognise this as an extremely solid example. not perfect of course but certainly one of the better examples.

Underside
Unusually good. Very clean. No obvious corrosion issues noted on the underside. (See pics for details).

Work done
Oil & filter (genuine). Changed.
New MANN air filter fitted.
Transmission fluid replaced
All Fluids checked/ topped up
4x Radiator support bushes replaced new parts. .
Electric Aerial connector replaced-
radio and tape fully working Inc backlight
Carpet turnbuckles replaced
Sunroof drains blown out/ clear.
door hinges greased.
Fixed front undertray new screws
RH mirror cap replaced
Boot lid struts replaced- fully working
Headlining was sagging - pinned up neatly.
Cleaned fuel filler gator / water drain cleared/ cleaned.

Possible future improvements? Of course it’s not perfect, there’s always ways to improve these cars. It depends how far you want to take it.
