Description

I am selling my 2003 Seicento Active 1. 1. It has a fully Stamped Service History with many invoices and other bills.

The last owner had been fastidious in having the vehicle serviced and maintained to the highest standard. It was last serviced on 28/ 09/ 24 when the mileage was 52923 (less than 1k miles ago). Crucially, the cambelt, auxiliary belt and water pump were replaced at 49, 821 on 23/ 10/ 23.

It is MOT'd until 03/ 10/ 25. On the last MOT the only advisory was for slight perishing on rear tyres, but they are legal and have plenty of tread. Exhaust system all good. Please check the MOT history via gov. uk. Underside has never needed any welding, appears sound and rust free. Wheel arches etc all 100%.

There is a file with ALL the previous MOT's dating back to 2006. All the original documentation comes with the vehicle and there is also an unused Lindsay Porter Workshop manual.

I am not a dealer and have no connections with the motor trade. I bought the Seicento in 2024 to use as a second car as we live in the countryside. However, our main car was damaged beyond its market value by a supermarket delivery van a couple of months ago and we have decided to sell the Seicento so that we can use the money to buy a decent replacement car.

I really don't think there are any faults with the car and it is rare to find a little Seicento in such marvellous condition with all of the service and history documentation. It has not been modified and is in totally standard condition. It is fitted with a decent Pioneer face-off ICE unit. Interior is clean, tidy and amazing condition for the year.

The fully galvanised body shell is totally mark free and there is zero rust on the shell. All the lights, warning lights, accessories work as they should. Spare wheel has never been used. Original tools and full set of replacement bulbs stowed with the spare in the rear wheel well. Absolutely NO Rust/ Corrosion/ Moisture in the hatchback and the luggage space is mark free.

With regards to "what to look for when buying a Seicento";
1) the paintwork is excellent, no fading, no signs of respraying etc
2) bodywork is corrosion free
3) no leaks, rear light seals sound, absolutely no damp in boot/ hatch
4) 2 blue keys present
5) all the locks work including petrol cap
6) all the electrics work
7) no leaks from petrol tank
8) heater works well, cooling fan cuts in when necessary, no mayo in oil or on oil filler cap or oil in coolant. Radiator sound.
9) handbrake works well and no knocks from suspension front or rear
10) no leaks from washer bottle.

For more information or pics please contact me. Overall therefore an excellent example of a small, economical fun hatchback. There are less than a total of 1300 Seicento's of all model types/ engine sizes on UK roads and less than 130 of the Active 1. 1 version. The 1. 1 engine is a version of the Fiat FIRE engine which was introduced in the mid 1980's and remained in production until 2010. Originally a carbureted engine, the Seicento was fitted with fuel injection. The engine runs sweetly and is surprisingly responsive and fun to drive. (The Schumacher version of the Seicento which is regarded as the most sought after version has exactly the same engine I believe, but has a closer ratio gearbox that improves the acceleration times). Not that this Seicento has been driven rapidly!

I bought this car because they are one of those cars that has gone "under the radar" as far as their longevity and build quality are concerned. I cannot emphasise how good the galvanised body is on this one.

The ONLY job that I would do to it if I was to keep it long term is to have the non-galvanised bonnet resprayed. mIt is not really rusty, but if you look carefully there are signs of early and minor corrosion. This is an easy and pretty cheap job to have done and this issue is reflected in the asking price.

There are 3 photos showing the faults I can find: one is a mark on the bumper near the number plate, one shows the bonnet and the third shows a slight mark on the rear bumper. All these are superficial and minor, but I am just trying to be as honest as possible.
