Description
Great hand built BMW Cafe Racer / Restomod / Custom bike. I have owned the bike for about 2 years and of course always keep it inside and its only been ridden in the dry. It was built to a great standard by the previous owner (furniture designer and metalworker) during COVID and is a beautiful, great quality bike.
You probably already know most of this if you are looking at the bike and how well it is built. But just in case, here is a quick summary:
The original bike was a Police bike, with a very low mileage of 25, 318 miles. The build was a ground-up resto, which looks like a factory-built bike, an 'R65 - R' that BMW never made. I love how the bike turned out, really enjoy riding it during sunny days and just looking at it! However, I'm moving away and unfortunately have to be a sensible adult and sell some of my classics. It’s a shame to keep it locked up when it should be out winning shows! Before the build, the engine condition was checked over, with the usual mechanical bits such as seals and gaskets replaced. As it is such a low mileage bike, very little work was needed, so the black, rocker covers, trans / shaft drive etc.. were refinished in silver / alloy and black. The exhaust is a 2 to 1 handmade stainless piece, its suits the bike really well and importantly sounds great. The snowflake wheels were also restored in correct alloy and black with period looking tyres.
As you can see, the frame has been modified with a bespoke single seat conversion, this is chromed but mostly covered by the seat and tail. The frame was refinished in black when the engine was out, and is still in fantastic condition as I have only covered about 900 miles in my ownership. This brings the total mileage to approx. 26, 218 from new! I also have the original clocks from the build to confirm this. The bike is ready to ride and show, it has already been featured in a few articles / calendar. I have tried to capture everything, but if you would like more pics, just ask.
