This vanquish was ordered with the One77 steering wheel, finished in matching black leather with Alcantara hand grips and red stitching. Manual driver gear selections can be made at the pull of the paddle shift leavers which fall to the finger tips.
Under the vented carbon bonnet sits the hand-built 6. 0 V12 masterpiece which offers 565bhp to the rear wheels whenever called upon and in keeping with a luxury sports GT, gearing is achieved via the 6-speed auto transmission. Engine start is achieved with the ‘glass’ key being inserted into the console located ignition slot and the V12 barks instantly to life with a reassuring deep rumble and quickly settles to a smooth idle.
Gear selection is also selected on the centre console and the car moves away with ease. On the road, the Vanquish feels solid and secure with a firm but compliant ride. Steering is reasonably light but accurate and whist the auto transmission is smooth and quick to respond to driver input. Whilst the Vanquish will happily cruise around in heavy traffic with very little fuss, the cars performance is always at hand should the conditions and mood suit a spirited drive, or a long-distance mile munching high speed cruise.
