1988 Vauxhall Cavalier L With only 11,000 miles from new

1988 MK2 Cavalier 1. 3 L 5 Speed Petrol with only 11, 000 miles from new. This car has only be owned by me and one other family from new. The original owner purchased the car new in 1988, he only used it for a while before passing away. The car was then registered in his wife’s name, she hardly used the car but continued to take it for a MOT and Service every year as you can see from the MOT history and the incredibly low mileage. A few years back when his wife gave up driving the car was then registered to his daughter who I purchased the vehicle from. The vehicle has always been garaged and dry stored, this and the incredibly low mileage has helped preserve the car and kept it in outstanding condition. The car has never been welded and boasts so much originality, such as, dealer number plates, dealer stickers, dealer key ring, registration etching on the windows and sunroof, sticker labels on wiper and indicator stalks, never used ashtray and cig lighter, original and fully working radio cassette player. The back seat has never been sat on, even in my ownership. I have owned the vehicle since September 2022, in that time I have only covered approx 2500 miles in it. This leads me onto the reason for the sale, I just don’t use it enough and no longer have dry storage for it. This vehicle really deserves to be used and enjoyed as well as being kept in a dry storage facility.

You will notice the car boasts a rather unique two tone retro paint scheme complemented with period decals, as well as front fog lights and sunroof. I’m led to believe this was done by the supplying dealer to jazz up the car to help sell it, as this was old stock and now the all new MK3 Cavaliers were in full swing.

The car is supplied with the orginal dealer sales invoice as well as handbook, unused spare key, original V5 logbook and various service invoices and MOT’s.

In my ownership I have had the cam-belt and water pump replaced, as well as having it serviced every time it’s been for MOT. I’ve also made a couple of period enhancements, one being the 13 inch two-tone CD alloy wheels (Please note original steel wheels and wheel trims will also be supplied with the car) and the other being the rear screen Cavalier flash decal.

I also had a tow bar fitted, not for heavy towing but just to tow my lightweight 500kg caravan to shows,

The car is ready to jump in and drive away and what a pleasure it is to drive. It’s no SRI 130 but don’t be put off by the 1. 3 engine, this performs well and keeps up with modern traffic as well as being economical, boasting a 5 speed manual gearbox.

Overall the car is in outstanding unmolested condition. As with all vehicles of its age there are some minor imperfections such as stone chips, a slight bubbling on the corner of the OSR arch/ seal and a slight fading on the nsr quarter where the original owner brushed it against the garage wall parking it at night but nothing major and nothing that detracts from its unique and gleaming appearance.
