One of 1022 Austin Sprites made, it is essentially just rebadged MG Midget / AH Sprite however this is I believe the rarest variant of these cars.
Please note- was washed just prior to photos being taken so any bubbles are just droplets of water and not rust. There is absolutely no rust on the car anywhere.
Really clean car has been restored a few years ago by the previous owner. I have owned it around 2 years and have decided it’s time to try something else.
Car is ready to just be driven, was tuned at the end of last year and is running well. Serviced just prior also.
In my ownership the biggest changes I have made is fitting an upgraded full exhaust system to the car as the old one was leaking badly. I have also put in a proper real roll bar for added peace of mind when driving around, I can remove this if the new owner would like. Front springs have been replaced with stiffer and shorter competition springs. Headlights have been upgraded to modern bulb units- I still have the original headlights with original registration stamped on the glass although one doesn’t work. Common fault on these is the dual temperature and oil pressure gauge breaks and can’t be repaired- I have since fitted an individual period oil pressure gauge and a super accurate electronic temperature gauge (one below dash in photos). Has a new coil & distributor cap fitted. Wheels recently powder coated, New fan belt.
When I got the car it had an oil leak from a few spots but I fixed them when I got it (timing chain cover, rocker cover, all new coolant hoses, new radiator tap/ valve)
All glass has original reg stamped on it.
Has been painted previously.
Interior is really good condition
