Description

WORK DONE SINCE ACQUISITION IN 1992

In addition to routine maintenance, the following is a list of new parts fitted or repair work done (not in chronological order) during my ownership. In the few instances where modern parts have been used, these have been hidden, or fitted in such a way as to be removable if necessary.

Steering and suspension
Steering box reconditioned, new steering column thrust bearing.
New track rods and track rod ends.
New king pins and bushes.
New spring eye bushes.

Tyres
New matching Michelin ‘Double Rivet’ 600 x19” tyres with new tubes. Now at approx. 3mm, spare unused.

Brakes
New cables.
Shoes re-lined with Green Gripper woven linings, radiused to match drums (2024).

Exhaust
New stainless steel silencer and tail pipe.

Electrics
Fully re-wired using cotton-braided PVC cable.
New (concealed) cut-out/ voltage control unit.
New Durite petrol gauge with matching sender unit fitted and calibrated (old gauge left in place to maintain symmetry in dashboard).
New ignition coil.
New battery (2023)

Engine
New valves, new valve springs, new head gasket.

Cooling system
New water pump and hoses.
Radiator re-manufactured with correct pattern core.
New front plate/ thermostat mounting to cylinder head.
Petrol tank and fuel system
Tank re-built and lined.
New valves in petrol pump.
Carburettor re-built (all jet sizes correct).

Hubs
Shielded bearings fitted to front and rear hubs.

Bodywork and interior
All wings and wheels professionally refinished.
New ash frame to drop-down luggage tray.
New ash running boards.
New veneered dashboard (exact copy, to original pattern).

GENERAL COMMENTS/ WORK REQUIRED

Chassis, body, engine, transmission and electrics very sound.
All components work correctly, except no key to driver’s door, no element in cigar lighter.
Interior (headlining, leather to door panels and rear seat) good, but front bench seat, also front door lower trim panels, require repair.
Would benefit from new carpets. Some clouding to bottom of windscreen glass and to one rear quarter glass. A genuine solid and unspoilt pre-war saloon in good working order.
N. B. Odometer reading most probably does not represent actual mileage covered, which is unknown.
