VW Golf Mk4 GTI diesel. This is the GTI diesel, with the 150HP ARL diesel engine, with 6 speed manual. (Not the GT Tdi 130) It has just over 40k on the clock. This mileage may increase slightly as it is still driven. Full and complete service history, every year without fail, regardless of mileage. One owner and garaged in a dry warm garage its entire life.
This is the GTI edition with the PD150 diesel engine as fitted to the GTI diesel anniversary model. This was purchased by my father from new as a retirement present to himself. He ordered it in the highest spec that the diesel was available in at the time.
The car has a full leather interior (heated) climate control, and premium sound system. The car sits on 4 matching Michelin pilot sport tyres with lots of tread left. There is a full sized alloy wheel included as a spare, some Australian spec headlight lens protectors, and a DAB radio device fitted.
The car has never been smoked in or abused in any way. Its completely original, nothing has been refurbished, tarted up or hidden. It runs and drives superbly, and pulls very well through all the gears. It starts first turn of the key, and wants for absolutely nothing. The last MOT was advisory free, it has no rust, rot or any issues that need addressing. Anything that has required attention has been dealt with by the main dealer or local VW specialist.
It is only now for sale as my father is unable to drive due to illness. He has cherished this car and enjoyed every minute of owning it, I think this is more than reflected in how it presents. The photo's don't do it justice. This car must be pretty rare now particularly with such low mileage. The GTI ARL diesel was not exactly the most common of Mk4's back when they were launched. There were plenty of GT Tdi's about- but not the GTI. Its 23 years old and has fewer miles and seen less use than most of todays 5 year old cars. Its a very basic diesel by todays standards- no emission control 'stuff' DPF or ad-blue to worry about, just a catalytic convertor. Its probably one of the most economical of the GTI's too, returning a comfortable 55mpg on a run. It is a lovely driving car, the 1. 9tdi in ARL configuration offering bags of torque combined with the GTI handling package.
