Description

The internet says;

A station wagon body style was added for the 1977 model year. Structurally the same as the coupe and providing "lots of head, leg, and elbow room" as the coupe, but the wagon featured significantly increased cargo capacity.[23] The wagon body style was as novel as the unusual Pacer coupe model and featured huge doors for access.[50] The design was identical to the coupe up to the B-pillar. A new roof extended from the B-pillar to a full-width rear hatch hinged at the roof line that provided an opening down to the top of the rear bumper. Rather than lengthening the coupe's wheelbase, the station wagon featured a 4-inch (102 mm) extension, redesigned rear quarter panels, and rear side windows. The stretch made the wagon body design weigh only 76 pounds (34 kg) more than the coupe. The Pacer wagon also had a less unusual-looking body style with a squared-off back and straight, almost upright, rear-side windows. The wagon's rear side glass featured standard vent windows, while front vent windows were optional on all Pacers. The broad and rear liftgate eased the task of loading cargo as it opened to a wide, flat cargo area with 47. 8 cubic feet (1. 35 m3) of space, about 50% more than the coupe.[42] Additionally, the back cushion of the rear seat could be unlatched and folded down to form a continuation of the cargo floor.

The demand for small station wagons represented 30 to 40% of the total car-line market in the U. S.[42] The two-door Pacer wagon was positioned as entering a new segment rather than as a substitute for AMC's continuing four-door Hornet station wagon.[42]

Some Pacer wagon models featured simulated woodgrain trim on the lower body sides and the liftgate.

This example is currently awaiting shipment to the UK [but could go anywhere]. It runs and will drive for loading., 6 cylinders on the key. It will need light recommissioning , some paintworkrepair requiredto nearside arch.......... NOVA etc will be applied for if it comes to the UK.

This estate edition is in fact the hardest to find and although the colour combination is absolutely seventies it still looks good today
