`its

Cream/ Old English White finish on steel wheels with wheel spats.

Supplied new in 1953 as a RHD UK Home Market Car.

Colour: Cream.

Chassis number: 667014.

Build Date 23rd September 1953, making it the 14th DHC produced.

Dispatched 12th October 1953 to UK Distributor Henley's Limited of London.

First registered as OGW 601, OGW was the number on the car when I registered it locally in Guernsey (and OGW should repatriate with it on registration to the UK). The local registration number currently on the car is '12034' this will not stay on the car on export, as they are Guernsey use only and I will put it on retention at point of sale...

Matching numbers cars such as this, with a chassis that has never needed any repair or welding with all original running gear are rare to find. It has had a Stainless Steel exhaust and alloy fuel tank fitted to compliment its original finish.

Such cars with their original factory fitted components are truly getting hard to find nowadays.

The bodywork is very straight (see photos) all the panel work was professionally checked over and it has undergone a complete bare metal respray by a local restoration specialists. I myself trained as a Coach Builder at a UK XK Jaguar Body specialist, so I made sure everything on the bodywork was really thoroughly checked over, along with hundreds of my passionate man hours I have been spent on this car to keep it as true to its roots as I could... with a view to not to over restore it.

The car still has its original red leather seats which have been recently fed, the carpets and door trims and hood/ roof, the woodwork dash door capping etc are all nicely aged/ patinated, the hood is a little scruffy, but I view that as a part of its charm..

Mechanically the car has been a maintained car, I've deliberately not over done it in the engine bay. Things that need maintaining are maintained, for instance I just this week replaced the water pump as it was showing signs of wear, in essence it's a useable classic car, not over polished.

The clutch and gearbox are smooth, changing up and down nicely between gears, the twin cam 6 cylinder engine holds good oil pressure and temperature and purrs into life at the press of the start button, XK engines pull like a train. I adore the harmonic exhaust note, it's like a symphony with the Moss Box when you're coasting along effortlessly. All recently serviced, I have changed all the oils and fluids, it had a new radiator core at some point which is fine and was flushed, new hoses fitted, I also installed a new alloy thermostat housing and replaced the thermostat, water pump, points, carbs set up, I have fitted a new SU fuel pump and replaced the batteries with a single unit, a high efficiency AGM Battery fitted I. chose this to complement the newly refurbished electrics system which has been renewed with an original spec' fabric covered loom (at great expense). The original headlamps are in excellent condition and are bright, new side light housings and new rear light clusters and chrome pedestals fitted too. The bumpers door chromes and grill are all the originals.

All the above is finished off with 4 new Avon TurboSpeed tyres and new inner tubes fitted, all to complement the wheels which are freshly refurbished and painted. A history file including a Jaguar Heritage Certificate, old Buff Log book from first owner onwards and some invoices etc of works carried out.

Guernsey is a short boat or plane ride away (Condor Ferries, Flights via Blue Islands, Aurigny) please do come and see the car, or message me, I'm just phone call away if you want to call me and talk to me about the car, which is my preferred choice of contact.

'Sold as Seen' terms of sale.

It is a Guernsey registered vehicle now, so to register it to the UK should be a straightforward import procedure completing a Nova (which should incur a 5% VAT) and DVLA on a V52.
