Description
Possibly one of the nicest MGB GT’s on the road. Between 2002 and 2007 the following work was done :
New doors, Front wings, Sills, Castle Rails and Floors were fitted.
It was then resprayed, undersealed and waxoyled.
A later engine and gearbox from a 1980 car that had done less than 5000 miles was fitted. The sump was dropped and the engine was inspected and found to be spotless inside. Hence, the engine and gearbox have only done 32000 miles. The head was converted to unleaded and an electronic coil and ignition fitted. A new clutch was of course fitted and since the gearbox was from a later car the overdrive switch is on the gear stick, a very good modification.
The rear axle was rebuilt with an anti clonk kit and the suspension, brakes etc fully rebuilt,
The car has been continuously MOT’d since 2007 and is now MOT’d until 14/ 10/ 25. I have seldom seen a car with such good paintwork and certainly not one that was sprayed 18 years ago. For an ordinary 1800cc the car is very quick, drives well and quietly. I have had several Bs in the last 50 years including a sports that was restored to my specification and this GT with its large sunroof is easily the best. It was bought to enjoy in my old age but I am really no longer able to enjoy it.
