Description

Built between 1932-1934, Graham-Paige’s Blue Streak styling was the talk of the industry.

Listed on United States National Historic Vehicle Register in the Library of Congress, the Graham Blue Streak was a break point between the past and the future of automobile design that really changed cars forever. It went from the old era to the new era with the Blue Streak styling leading the way.

It wasn't hard for the public and other manufacturers to tell that this was the wave of the future, that car design had turned a corner and it didn't take long for the other automakers to follow suit, in particular latching onto the fender design that was "valenced" to fill the space behind the wheel and conceal the chassis and suspension.

By 1934 pretty much everybody was doing the same and fenders became part of the body.

The Graham brothers designed some forward-looking engineering features into the Blue Streak as well, such as the "banjo" frame in which the solid rear axle passed through the chassis, strengthening it as well as lowering the car's center of gravity. The leaf springs were placed outside the frame rails, another innovative feature.

Because of its new framework design, the Graham sat lower than its contemporaries, which was touted in advertisements noting that the car was wider than it was tall. Also that it was the most copied car in America. The lowered stance also provided another major benefit. This lowered the center of gravity, which made handling characteristics far superior to anything else on the road at the time.

Original four litre straight eight engine with 95hp. 6 Volt as per it left the factory in 1933. The car comes with service history paperwork, owners manual and blue streak specialist book with history of this unique model and variants.

This is a very rare straight eight engined 64 with only 21 known to exist globally.

A historic vehicle with an interesting past.

Would consider a swap for a car of a similar value or a part exchange.
