1938 Steib Sidecar S350/LS200 (Sidecar only)

For Sale 1938 Steib lightweight sidecar model S350/ LS200
with all fittings (excludes Bike) £3800 ono
Please find for sale my Steib sidecar finished in Maroon.
It is a 1938 S350 chassis fitted with the optional sprung sidecar wheel (30Dm in 1938) At some time in the last 50 to 70 years it was rebuilt with the light weight LS200 body Presumably at this time or some later time a new floor has been welded in and the paintwork changed to the Maroon colour. The is no rust in the floor/ body.
The body sits on 4 small coil compression springs at the front and a mix of 2 compression and 2 expansion springs at the rear both on a substantial cross bracket attached to the frame cross tubes. It looks like a professional conversion This results in a well insulated ride from today’s road surfaces.
I have replaced the sidecar swing arm pivot pin and re reamed the swing arm casting so the wheel runs true, bearings are good The outfit tracks/ rides great with no head shake at low speed and I can supply the setup figures etc.
I have used a 5 point fixing method all of which are adjustable so it should be able to fit/ be adapted to most classic bikes Other features included are
a. New sidecar tyre
b. Heavy duty Toneux cover
c. Seat backrest slide separating the storage compartment with mahogany armrests
d. This can be locked in place with the security cable from the front footrest which can also be used to secure helmets
e. New seat
f. Additional back support for smaller passengers (approx 5ft tall)
g. Additional removable footrest for smaller passengers
h. New passenger screen and cover (Ive not used this as we have full face helmets)
i. Rear view mirror
j. Carpeted interior
k. I have reinforced the floor area by sandwiching it between 10 mm waterproof resin board on the inside and 6mm powder coated aluminium sheet on the outside (stainless bolts). Prior to this the floor whilst solid flexed as you entered the sidecar
l. Wiring replaced indicators rear tail , stop lamp and forward running light added to sidecar original mudguard position lights refurbished and in good working order.
m. Original brightwork and aluminium light holder all in excellent condition
last but not least the ubiquitous wicker picnic basket
The sidecar has a great patina which includes some age related stone chips and marks
I have treated any chips with anti rust treatment

This is a unique Steib sidecar I am only selling as my wife has trapped a nerve in her neck and can no longer ride.

The price is for the sidecar only If someone did want the complete outfit then I might consider it but the 6t Thunderbird is a lovely bike I would prefer to keep.
