Volvo 960 2. 9 estate Automatic. Mot July 6th 2025.
First of all, I have had a couple of enquiries regarding sill damage reported as an advisory on the 2012 Mot history. The sill has been bent up slightly through someone attempting to raise the car by using the sill instead of the jacking point. The sill is still in the same unweakened state after 13 years and never mentioned again on subsequent MOTs. I have included a photo of the sill. All jacking points are solid and usable and were used during new MOT the other day. An overzealous MOT examiner I think.
Cruise control, power steering. Electric memory position, heated seats.
Electric sunroof. Fitted dog guard.
All gauges work fine. I have photos of the dash with ignition on, and engine started to show all lights and gauges working.
New timing belts, tensioners and water pump fitted at 97, 000 miles.
New camshaft sensor fitted at the same time.
New starter motor Fitted 97, 000 miles
New exhaust from cat back fitted at 99, 000 miles.
Very good tyres.
The interior is in very nice condition.
Full service carried out at the time of Mot 99, 275.
Has fitted towbar, but requires electrics, purchased it that way.
The car starts, drives very well and brakes and handbrake work great. There are no oil or water leaks at all, or any ingress of water, floor is bone dry.
There has been over £2000 spent on the car between myself and the previous owner in the last couple of years.
All the receipts for the Volvo are with the car for new condenser etc.
The air-conditioning doesn't work although I have tried to purchase a new compressor, and am still looking.
There is a slight vibration from the steering on left lock if accelerating from say a roundabout. I have purchased a new steering pump but not been able to fit it as yet, due to being old!
With the car there is the steering pump, ATF fluid, new AC dryer.
New automatic gearbox filter and transmission fluid, but the gearbox works perfectly and changes gear with no problem.
I was going to change the fluid and filters in the box just as a matter of course, not sure when it has been done previously.
There is a new spare water pump.
The volvo radio cassette works well too, the volume control a little scratchy. The radio code is there as well.
There are 2 working Volvo remotes and 3 keys
The logbook is in my name. The reason I bought the Volvo is I was not really using my day car, so decided to sell it and get a modern classic instead.
Bought the Volvo the back end of 2023 and has been great great to drive. I have driven it almost 5000 miles since purchasing it.
Unfortunately my wife struggles to drive it now, both well past pension age, so have bought another modern day car.
Currently own and drive a 1963 Humber Super Snipe Series 1V automatic, use at car shows etc.
I have tried to to be as honest as possible in describing the Volvo, as nothing worse than coming to see a car and finding this doesn't work, and that doesn't work.
There is no real service history as such, but plenty of receipts and small book with some history.
The owners Volvo handbook is there too with details in it, including radio code.
I have every confidence in the reliability of the car, and know it will travel anywhere in the country.

Seeing there is 3 1/ 2 months mot, I will put a full years MOT on it, if I get a reasonable offer.
