Description
1970 Triumph Herald Convertible. Totally rebuilt with a new Convertible rear tub and new doors in 2008 on a one owner low mileage saloon chassis. Original bill of sale from Richmond Garages Malvern for £592 on the 24th April 1970. Registered as a convertible and a new hood and engine were also fitted and the head converted to unleaded fuel during the rebuild. In 2017 the Herald was fitted with a rebuilt Triumph Spitfire overdrive gearbox. The Herald has been in the family since June 2007 and still has its original number plate KFK 4H.
The car drives extremely well and is mechanically excellent – over £400 was spent last September going through the mechanical components. The overdrive gearbox makes it much more usable in everyday life. The rest of the Herald now needs some TLC. The doors need adjusting, some rust is starting to appear in the bottom of the doors and along the rear wing seams and the side windows on the hood are broken.
