1958 series 2 109 builders truck. The truck was bought new by the Critchlow family and was used for years as a company vehicle for the old chap who owned and ran the builders merchants, in the last few years of it being used by him it was refurbished and had a new galv chassis.
Land Rover specialist go through it and do whatever it needed so here a list of it’s spec as such.
• New Marsland Galv chassis
• New batt
• Full new exhaust
• Oil & filter change
• New set of parabolic springs
• New shockers
• New swivels & one shot grease etc
• All 4 Brakes overhauled. New shoes and cylinders
• New sump seal new fan belt
• Had a secret battery isolation switch fitted, just for extra security
• Had led headlights fitted. But picked the ones which look very much like standard for the vintage look but definitely makes it better to drive at night with.
• New galv rear grab handles
• New coil
• New head gasket
• It’s on Webber carbs
• Fairy overdrive
• Original 2. 25 petrol engine and box
• New plugs

It starts on the button and tick’s over nicely. It’s been stored inside for years. Obviously there bumps and scrapes but it’s all patia for me with truck, it’s all part of it. Only bad bit is every now again it jumps out of 1st gear but it’s not a problem, just hold the stick until you select 2nd then your off. Like I say it only happens now and again. I have been advised it’s just a spring in the top of the box. It’s Common problem and it’s super cheap and easy to fix. I Just haven’t done it because it doesn’t bother me with the I drive it.
Made contact with the series 2club. Apparently it’s a very motor as in there was only ever 360 lwb Petrols made for the home market in 1958 they have records of 13 vehicles 2 of which are in Australia. So this will the 14th recorded.
