Description

Fiat Panda Mk1 'Selecta' (141 generation) 1. 0 ltr. FIRE engine (carburettor not injection), in original Fiat Turquoise (401a), 19. 8K recorded miles, 3 private owners with the car being owned by a family from new until 2022 whilst also in long-term storage after the 1st MOT. This also contributes to its 'almost' rust-free, sound condition generally. The 2nd owner bought the car from Kent and initially had the vehicle re-commissioned / serviced locally to his Bristol home. I bought the Panda in late summer 2023 and undertook to undertake further remedial work (and subsequent MOTs) to get the car running well and improve its general visual appearance. The cooling, fuel, ignition systems have all been overhauled, including the timing belt using genuine Fiat parts along with general service items. Fluids including engine & transmission, along with filters, have all been replaced during my ownership. Some of this work has been undertaken by a Fiat specialist in Worcestershire and he would vouch for the cars good-structural condition I'm sure. A new battery was fitted in 2022 and I've checked the voltage / electrical charging figures which are acceptable. Replacement bulbs have been installed in the Instrument cluster along with a replacement fuel gauge (the fuel tank has been removed and 'flushed'). Current MOT valid until mid-December 2025. x2 sets of keys provided (drivers door & boot locks have been replaced in my ownership). The car has factory-fitted options including: opening sunroof, rear-quarter windows, 13" Alloy wheels with new steel radials (plus spare). An aftermarket Gemini alarm had been fitted to the car previously but this has been disconnected and therefore doesn't currently work. The passenger-side door bottom has been repainted at some time and could be 're-done' if this important to a new owner. The original Fiat pillar-jack remains but I've also bought a scissor-jack which will go with the car as its more stable in support of the car's weight. This small Fiat is reminder of when cars were more 'analogue' and yet full of character - somewhat different to todays 'Euro boxes' in my view.
Unless you go to a bespoke Italian Classics show you probably won't see many other Mk1 Pandas out and about which makes it even more unusual when parked up next to a car park / field full of current vehicles.
I bought the car partly because we had previously had a Mk3 (312) for many years in the family and also because I like Italian Automotive engineering having owned a nos of Italian motorcycles over the past 30 years or so.
