Description

Fine example of the top-of-the-range Land Rover Freelander 2, with a 3. 2 litre inline 6 cylinder Volvo engine that makes it surprisingly quick for a car of this size and weight. It's also super-smooth, and mated to a lovely auto gearbox.

This is the top spec, fully loaded version with full leather, electric seats, sat nav (fully working with latest nav disc), touchscreen, multi-speaker stereo, xenons, etc. It drives like a car with half its mileage or less, and is a pleasure to drive on the motorway or around muddy country lanes.

It has been maintained without compromise while I've had it for the past couple of years. It's recently had 4x new Continental AllSeason tyres, 4-wheel alignment, new front and rear diff oil, new auto gearbox oil, new brake discs and pads all round, new wiper blades, xenon headlamp bulbs, rear Bilstein shock absorbers, etc. It's also had 2 oil and filter changes in the past 6, 000 miles, and new coolant, power steering fluid and a recent battery. The chain-driven engine doesn't need a cambelt. Receipts for most of this, some at a Land Rover specialist, with good quality parts used. I've had several Range Rovers over the years, and bought this as a stop gap until I found another good one – but I ended up loving it and keeping it for a couple of years. It's a great size – not as big and cumbersome as a Range Rover – and that big petrol engine makes it surprisingly quick and effortless. It's more economical than you might think too, because you don't need to thrash it. Over 30MPG on a run!

It was undersealed a couple of years ago and is good underneath. Bodily it's clean and straight with almost no car park 'dinks', and only a few light surface scratches. Inside it's excellent with a very good headlining and clean carpets and seats – the driver's leather seat is hardly worn. Not quite a mint show car, but a good used example that's been taken care of in my ownership. Never off-roaded or used for towing, while I've had it.
