Description

Vauxhall Velox E- Series, 1953, Fully restored with photographic evidence. Totally rebuilt Whisper Quiet 2262cc 6 cylinder engine, over £2500 spent on re-chroming, Body off restoration shotblased and rust proofed underside. New battery, new wiring loom, new clutch, new headlining, window rubbers plus all other rubbers replaced. Brand new tyres, exhaust, basically the whole car has been gone through by a close mate/ life long friend of mine who has restored several classics over the years, no corners have been cut and he is very anal with his work, having been there whilst this car was being restored. Even the original hubcaps were re chromed. There is a set of whitewall tyre trims should you wish to fit them, these are in the boot with some spares and a brand new service kit, although its not needed, its there for next time. This is the model with the Crossbow Front Grille, and the side opening bonnet from either side or can be removed altogether, this will need two people. It has had Hazard lights discreetly added with also a locking fuel cap. The Interior is the original and in really lovely condition, there has been a new floor carpet fitted throughout the car. The badgebar we believe is a Vauxhall Factory Period option and looks fantastic. The engine starts without fail without choke and like i said earlier its Whisper Quiet, standing a couple of feet away, you cannot hear it. The V5 is in my name, there is also the original Green Log Book from 1953 in a big file with workshop manuals, handbooks, history photos (some in frames), bills, original sales brochure etc, there really is too much to say about this lovely old car that shines like new, well it is virtually new. Spare is in the boot. These photos really do it no justice, will hopefully take some better ones now that the weather is looking nicer. Due to being classed as a Historic Vehicle this means its Tax and MOT exempt. She has just had her 72nd Birthday on 27th February and looks like shes just rolled out the showroom. Its a very smooth and comfortable drive, column gearchange, all brand new brakes throughout, light, wipers, heater, semaphore arms and outer indicators etc all work as they should. Im quite sad to see this car go as im very fond of it watching the restoration bit by bit, but storage loss forces sale, im happy to deal/ px with a Vintage Motorcycle, but must be British. You can jump in a drive this away immediately. it had done a trip around the Isle Of Man late last year and never missed a heartbeat. there are very few of these left now, especially as good as this one. Would look fabulous with a period external sunvisor.
