Description

Genuine, original, low mileage 318iS BMW E36 Coupe for sale.
Car is rust free - no scabby arches, sills, or the like.
There is a smattering of surface rust on the suspension components underneath, where I've had it in storage for the last 6 years or so, but it is just that - superficial.
The only bodywork corrosion that it has is, as shown in the pictures, under the boot spoiler on the offside.
The car wasn't used a busting lot for a few years before I bought it, then I used it as a daily for two years before putting it back into storage in 2018. The MOT history will back this up. It was getting dangerously close to the 60, 000 mile mark so I decided to park her up and keep her at 59, 900.
When it came out of storage in Jan of this year, it needed a new fuel pump and a battery to get going, and a PCV valve which had failed. I've yet to put it through an MOT, but can't see any reason why it wouldn't pass one and would happily put it through a test prior to sale.
So what are the bad points? The central locking solenoid in the driver's door has packed up. So whilst the central locking operates all locks with the key from the passenger barrel, it only operates the drivers door from the drivers door lock (no remote locking specced on this car). It only has one key. The grille has a dent and paint scuff. there are a couple of paint scuffs around the car. The black window surrounds have started to loose their black plastic coating (see pictures). The button for the glovebox has got bonk - it sticks out too much. It works, but it sticks out. The leather on the driver's seat bolster is showing age-related cracking. It hasn't failed, but it's cracking.
I've taken the view to be honest about all these things, rather than try and hide them, as it's an honest example of what is quite a rare car now. It looks resplendent in dark green, with the M-styling and whilst some people would turn their nose up at it for not being a 6-pot - actually, that is no bad thing. These four-cylinder 1900 lumps aren't bad at all, and it's probably saved it from being stripped out and turned into a drift car.
It's a useable appreciating classic that also returns some fuel economy.
If the buyer so wishes, it also has some M3 wheels that can come with it. I don't know if they are genuine or not, but I won't have any use for them once the car has gone.
These don't come up for sale very often.
