Description

Black Porsche 944 T RUF BTR Tribute
PRICED TO SELL

Magazine featured car for the true connoisseur and mature enthusiast (copy included in the extensive file)

This car is my pride and joy and fresh from a full engine rebuild (cost £11, 000) at renowned 944 specialist Augment Automotive.

However, as a serial classic car owner I've recently acquired a classic Ferrari 308 that needs some TLC hence reason for sale.

Specifications:

A short summary of the engine build specs:

- Lindsey Racing Super 48 Turbo (good for 420bhp)
- Mishimoto Intercooler (mounted on front)
- Wossner Pistons and Rings
- Steel-Lined Aluminium Block (for strength and eliminates risk of bore-score)
- High-performance steel-sandwich head-gasket (for strength and longer-life)
- Top-end fully rebuilt including new valves etc..
- Valve cover professionally power-coated in RUF green
- Bottom end fully rebuilt including bearings etc..
- Turbo oil-cooler and other ancillary items

Currently running 0. 5 bar only at circa 220bhp as was set up to run-in for the first 500 miles. Oil has been dropped out and no issues found on a full diagnostic test. I've done 400 miles myself since then and actually quite enjoy the car in 'cruise trim'.

The new owner should make their own choice on upgrade to injectors etc.. (1000cc recommended) and associated boost map to decide on how much bhp they want to run and number of different selectable modes (car is just manually set currently so both these items will need to be purchased). I've not done this as it is a very personal choice so wanted to offer maximum flexibility.

The GAZ Gold adjustable suspension has been tuned by Center Gravity also best in the business over the course of a full day session.

Original 1990s AZEV deep dish alloys wrapped in nearly new Goodyear Eagle F1s (245/ 40/ R17 rear and 215/ 40/ R17 front). These were fully refurbished recently but have some minor scratches from idiot who replaced tyres.

Turbo red callipers front and rear with good discs/ pads. Turbo prop-shaft. Uprated clutch plates found usually on 930 Turbo.

Bonnet, headlight covers and bumper professionally repainted and flat polished to remove any paint chips.

Custom additions:

Lots of other trick bits across interior and exterior:

- Roll-cage with diagonal bar (removable for rear passengers)
- Removal sun-roof for targa style driving
- Genuine RUF 180mph clocks
- Geniune RUF badge (impossible to obtain normally without factory VIN)
- Porsche scripted black seats removed from wrecked LHD 964
- Black door cars and carpets in A1 condition
- Analogue retro boost gauge (personal favourite)
- Alpine in-period retro CD/ radio (impossible to find)
- Re-trimmed black gear knob
- Bespoke fabricated 3 inch stainless exhaust
- Bespoke front splitter

Bad bits:

- Car seems to be running a bit rich but have not had a chance to get it on a dyno again as makes sense to do this when injectors are upgraded
- Paint in excellent condition but not original. No rust at all.
- A few mild scratches around door handles and on footplates consistent with age (please check photos that also form part of the description)Extensive history file with receipts for £15, 000+ from Augument Automotive who I have used exclusively for all work carried out in my ownership as the best in the business for fast road 944s in the UK undertaking many race builds over last 20 years. Also as mentioned above Center Gravity have set the suspension up professional over their top package over the course of a full day test and consultation.

Would suit someone looking for fast road or track day toy that you can still throw kids in the back for a blast to the coast. 911s are so much money these days you daren't take them out the garage.

I love the 1980s 930 RUF BTRs which is how I came to own this tribute car and regularly get the thumbs on the motorway from other Porsche owners. Private numberplate 'C5 BTR' included in the sale ('Clubsport BTR').

Notes:

I have owned and sold many classic cars and unfortunately have in that time lost all patience for obnoxious idiots and time-wasters.

I reserve the right to ignore your messages if they start 'how much for cash...' or some other nonsense and won't tolerate tourists or boy racers who fancy a day out.

Genuine enthusiasts and serious buyers always very welcome to chat and I will accommodate all reasonable requests.

A test drive will only occur when we have agreed a price, I can see your proof of funds on mobile banking app.

No international buyers or export. BACs on collection no cash please.

Hoping this one finds another loving home
