Description
Intending to SORN the vehicle shortly.
I bought the vehicle pre-pandemic and drove it back to Northern Ireland from England. In a trip of a few hundred miles. The car didn't miss a beat.
The car has been stored since then, with the engine being turned over regularly.
The sea is about half a mile away and the car has developed a light sheen of rust along the bottom of the outside of the doors. Possibly along the bottom of the the body panels also. But I do mean 'light'. This is at the lightest end of cosmetic. But, I do want to give the most accurate picture of what the car is like now, so there are no surprises.
The back story is that the car was bought by an engineer, as a retirement project. Everything mechanical was done with only the bodywork left, when unfortunately, the owner died.
Shortly afterwards it was bought by a trader, who sold it to me. Since I've owned the car, its been sat in a dry, secure warehouse.
The car underside was sealed against everything imaginable. Including nuclear war, judging by the amount of sealant applied when I fist saw the car. Turns out that engineer knew knew more than any of us, what the future held!
My plans have changed. I plan to set up a sailing charity for HM armed forces veterans and ex-RUC officers and every penny from the sale will go to that. Like what 'TurnToStardoard' have established in Falmouth and I plan to cover N. I., Scotland and the North of England. It says here. Explain why you bought it, why it stands out and what makes it unique. What’s your favourite thing about this classic?
I doubt I need to tell you any of that. If you're considering a bi-turbo, you probably know all there is to know already.
In case you don't. - details above or better still. - details above
An intelligent prospective buyer checked the VIN number with Maserati in Modena, who said that because the car was hand built by Zagato and records are 'patchy' from the 80's, in the case of some cars, they might be unable to give a definitive yes or no, regarding their provenance.
So, I checked with DVLA. Explained what Modena had said and why the question was being asked, but all I got was a New V5C in my name. So, I'm assuming that Swansea are happy with the car.
