1999 Mazda MX-5 NB 10th Anniversary Limited Edition

Here is a fantastic opportunity to purchase an excellent example of this high specification limited edition MX-5.

A desirable accompaniment to go with this 10th Anniversary is the special commemorative gift set which came with the 10th Anniversary Limited Edition from new, a rare collector’s item in its own right. Comprising a scale model of the 10th Anniversary limited edition, special 10th Anniversary key fob and “his” and “hers” Seiko wrist watches, both of which are used but have been serviced, there can’t be many 10th Anniversary MX-5’s out there still with this gift set. The Certificate of Authenticity that came with the car from new is also present.

And what about the car itself. Well, apart from the odd age related mark which is to be expected considering the age of the car, the original Innocent Blue Mica paintwork is in excellent condition. There is absolutely no rust and there has never been any welding, nor is any needed. The car has been treated with Waxoyl during my ownership from 2007 and the suspension components have been protected with Hammerite paint. The underside of the car is in excellent condition. The interior is in fine overall condition, again with just the odd age related mark. The original polished alloy wheels are flawless with no kerbing whatsoever. It may be a bit of a cliché but the car does actually drive like new, the engine pulls effortlessly through all gears and the 6 speed gearbox is silky smooth.

There are several optional extras fitted, including a genuine Mazda chrome finish style bar with wind blocker and sound board, a luggage rack and chrome finish petrol cap. Also genuine Mazda front fog lights have been fitted which, along with the Lockwood stainless steel front grille, certainly enhance the front aspect of the car. There is also a matching hard top in excellent condition complete with a storage bag.

A minor negative point is the three small dents on the boot lid as a result of some wood mysteriously falling from the garage roof. The dents do not detract from the overall condition of the car and the paintwork has not been breached. I did look at getting a used replacement boot lid but those I looked at all had corrosion in the area of the rear number plate lights which the original as fitted does not have.

The car was serviced by a Mazda main dealer in May 2024 and the current MOT expires in June 2025. I will get a new MOT if the car is sold before the expiry date.

The current and genuine mileage is just over 45, 000 so well under an average of just 2, 000 miles per year.

So there you have it. Your chance to purchase a truly original example of this highly desirable limited edition of the MX-5 with an extensive service history to match. A unique selling point of this particular MX-5 must be the accompanying history file which contains every service invoice from new. Apart from one service carried out by a Vauxhall main dealer back in 2006, all services have been carried out by Mazda main dealers on an annual basis regardless of mileage.
