North Devon Classic Cars are proud to announce for sale a beautiful example of the much sought-after Range Rover Classic Brooklands special edition, from 1993. Only 150 of these ‘Brooklands’ models were introduced, with only 75 remaining in the UK and the other 75 exported.
The special models all included unique ‘Brooklands Green’ paint schemes, with integrated and colour-keyed front and rear bumpers, spoilers and side skirts; a unique grey velour interior trim; and 5 speed alloy wheels, which were new to the Range Rover at the time.
Other features included four speed automatic transmission, air-conditioning, and tape player and CD changer. The Brooklands retailed for £31, 500 when new and promised exclusivity and style in addition to all the usual Range Rover features and abilities.
Now, over 30 years later, this is quite a car – this model has had an aftermarket full-stainless exhaust fitted, so the familiar 3. 9 litre fuel-injected V8 is slightly more ‘woofly’ than standard, but quiet and refined nonetheless, with smooth low-down torque and enough power to more than keep up with modern traffic.
The car has low ownership, the last custodian having bought the car in 2001 and lavished it with care ever since. There is an extensive history file from new, owner’s pack and MOT history. Its looks and driving manners belie the mileage and it is a true testament to its previous keeper, who clearly loved it.
Outside, the car is in excellent condition, with deep green paint and all trim in place and intact. The wheels are recently refurbed and wearing Michelin Latitude Cross tyres all round. There is the odd parking knock here and there on the body, but this is absolutely not a restored example – it wears its minimal patina with pride.
The inside is superb – everything works as it should (electric windows, mirrors, central locking, original Range Rover radio cassette etc.) – and the trim is all in great condition. There is the minimum of wear to the driver’s seat (see pic), but that is the only criticism. The headlining is not drooping. There is also a full set of Range Rover rubber mats included in the sale.
In summary, a rare opportunity and a beautiful example of the sough-after Range Rover Classic, with the added cache of the Brooklands special edition status and rarity. There is a lot going for this car, especially at this price.
