Description
I recently gave the car an extensive recommissioning, resulting in a clean MOT.
- Major engine service
- 6x new spark plugs
- Rocker cover gasket
- Fresh coolant
- Fuel pump, filter and rubber lines replaced. Tank drained before attempting to start too. Run on premium since.
- 4X new tyres - Nankang Midrange
- New trailing arm brake hard-lines
- Gearbox serviced
- Diff oil changed
- Brakes overhauled:
- New Febi-Bilstein brake discs and pads, front and rear!
- 4 new rear brake hoses
In addition to the mechanicals, I spent a weekend removing the seats and wet vacuuming the carpets and all the fabric. It now looks, smells and feels fantastic inside.
The car has good history.
- All of the original keys.
- Full BMW service history up to 52, 000 miles including all the paperwork.
- 4 previous keepers
It has some nice options for the time. Front and rear electric window, electric sunroof, the highly desirable M-Tech 2 sport steering wheel, the BT mobile phone under the arm rest, central locking, the original BMW alarm and a lovely period correct Sony radio and cassette player, with the 10CD changer in the boot. I have been daily driving this and it starts on the button every time and I have been enjoying the automatic box.
The previous owner bought the car in December 1997. It spent the most recent 15 years parked up and dry stored. The car is incredibly solid and original.
You must remember it’s a 31 year old car, so expect to find marks of some description on every panel. Like all cloth E36, the doorcards are sagging, although for now the headliner is still tight and tidy!
Overall it’s an excellent car. I have enjoyed the weekends spent recommissioning it with my dad, sparing the car from a worse fate. It’s now time for a new owner.
This is a private sale. I would keep it if I had space as it’s a great investment. I am not interested in any swaps or part exchanges and no warranty is implied or given.
