1973 Hillman Avenger

1973 Hillman Avenger Top Hat Limited Edition. Metallic blue with white vinyl roof. One of 4 left apparently - cannot confirm.
1500cc OHV engine with 3 speed automatic gearbox.

V5C present in my name and address - car currently under SORN. 2 ignition keys as well.

Bought recently but a disagreement with the ASOC means that I really don't want to continue with the car and deal with the attitude of the committee of the owners club, which is a shame as they're good cars and relatively rare nowadays.

If you don't believe me, spend a while searching the internet and try to buy one - there's a partially built Tiger available for £15k on this site. There were also a couple over west somewhere that needed collecting with a dustpan and brush.

Car has been off the road over 20 years but has survived well structurally due to undersealing and lack of exposure to salty roads in the interim. Plenty of pictures of the underside to illustrate the condition of the car. It's a 52 year old British built car, therefore this condition is pretty much miraculous. It does need work but the bones are good - inner wing condition is solid - see pictures.

I have removed the strip of vinyl roof on the drivers side to inspect the metal below. Only surface corrosion and a small repair required on the front pillar where the roof is leaded on to the shell.

I have bought a significant number of new panels to restore the shell - probably more than strictly necessary to make the car roadworthy but I was planning on doing it properly. These can be itemised and offered to the buyer if required.

I have advertised the car previously as a complete package but the cost seems to put people off - even though it would be considerably less than sourcing and buying the parts separately. Please feel free to message and I can itemise exactly what else is available. All of the corroded area you can see in the pictures have been addressed, with the exception of the outriggers.

Unfortunately the front brake calipers are missing. The upside is that the car rolls freely and the handbrake works. Previous owner has since contacted me and has located the calipers. No further action taken at this point but he may be closer to you than me. Northampton area.

There are currently alloys on the car - Revolutions with brand new 175/ 70 Toyo tyres. Not part of the sale but may be negotiable. Otherwise the car will be on random steel wheels.

Not interested in swaps and you're not doing me a favour by taking it away.
Best cash price is NOT lower than the stated price. That said, I'm not unrealistic either.
