Description
Selling my 1993 Vauxhall Carlton 2. 0i CD manual estate due to lack of time to enjoy and needing fewer cars in my life.
Fantastic, rare colour and in great condition. Was owned by the same elderly gentleman for around 20 years, before it sat in a small private collection from 2020 until I bought it late last year.
Loads of history, including receipts for cambelt, headgasket and head skim. It had a new radiator, thermostat and various other bits last year. The 2. 0i runs beautifully and returns surprisingly good fuel economy – I drove it back from the south coast in one hit and returned around 40mpg in glorious comfort. It wafts along so well and rides brilliantly.
The velour interior is magnificent and in good condition, with the slightly droopy headlining as you would expect of 80s and 90s cars. It even has the load cover still in place.
The electric windows and stereo don’t currently work and I haven’t had time to investigate. The electric sunroof works just as it should and, remarkably, does not leak. The heater is toasty and the engine gets up to temperature and stays there.
The old chap apparently cherished it and had it regularly rustproofed underneath, so it has survived far better than most of these models. The MOT history is immaculate and the current clean test runs until December 18th 2025.
There are a few minor paint blemishes, scuffs and marks, but nothing unsightly or which detract from the overall look of the car. It’s a fantastic looking thing that attracts so much attention.
Current mileage is around 136k and probably won’t go up much as I simply don’t have the time to enjoy it.
