Description

This rare, UK-supplied, Holland and Holland is one of the 'alleged 20' with the rear entertainment pack. Having been garaged for over half of its life, the body displays a deep shine that's free from large swirls or major scratches. Even on close inspection the paintwork holds up very nicely with only a few small age-related marks, light frontal stone chips, and discreetly touched-in blemishes to report. All the rubbers are in generally great condition with no signs of perishing, the panel gaps are spot-on, and the lights are clear and damage-free all round except for a stone chip to the OS headlamp.

I always wanted a P38 Range Rover, and a Holland and Holland if I could get hold of one. I set about to find the best example I could, and this car has not disappointed. It has been truly reliable and often receives comments relating to its quality from mechanics who have worked on or MOT'd the car.

This car has had six owners since being first registered in London in January 2001 where it roamed the streets of Mayfair. It moved with its fourth owner to the Lake District in 2006, where it drove most of its miles, and was routinely services by Braithwaites Garage in Penrith. The car changed hands again in 2012 where it was to spend the next 10 years in the Highlands as part of a collection of dedicated shoot vehicles. During this time the car covered only 90 miles and spent much of its time garaged.

I bought the car in 2022 from V8 Vault who had serviced and prepared the car for its new owner. Regrettably the service book was lost when the paperwork was sent down, but copies of the service records are present and a replacement service book has been restamped by many of the original garages (ahem, HR Owen!).

In my ownership I have been keen to enjoy the car and ensure its reliability. The car has had a sympathetic restoration including touch ups, refinished wing mirrors and rear bumper. The rest is believed to be original. Internally, the genuine walnut trim and accents have been painstakingly re-oiled, in the correct manor without leaving blisters and faded finishes often seen on other examples. Another usual fault, a deteriorated front door handle bluing has been professionally refinished. The ageing stereo has been upgraded and replaced with a premium Focal system which adds much joy to every journey. The system was professionally installed with the key task of ensuring it could be reversed without causing any damage. To that end, the original system is available, should the new owner wish to return the vehicle to its absolute original state.

Mechanically the car has been maintained whilst in my ownership by P38 experts Turners who have ensured the car operates as close to perfect, given its age. I am pleased to report everything works including the air suspension, low range box, cruise control, air conditioning, heated seats and heated windscreen. The engine gains revs smoothly and accelerates comfortably through the gears making both town and country driving comfortable and motorway cruising effortless.

To that end, during my ownership the car has had all new tyres, new genuine air suspension pump, new a/ c blend motors, new windscreen, new battery, new steering racks and dampers, BECM module and a quality brake rebuild by BCS Automotive amongst other parts required to keep the car working at its best. In addition, the car has had a couple of major and minor services through Turners in the last few years. All of which is evidenced in the service records and history.

You can see the car in action having been featured in JayEmm on cars.

I've had the car for three winters now and have an eye on my next adventure so my wonderful Holland and Holland is reluctantly for sale. Hoping to send it to a good home where someone can enjoy it as much as I have. I'm sure most will know what differentiates this car from other Range Rovers of the late 90's but a quick reminder:

The 2000 Range Rover Holland & Holland is a special edition of the classic Range Rover that was created in collaboration between Land Rover and the British luxury gunmaker, Holland & Holland. The vehicle is a blend of high-end automotive engineering and the opulence associated with luxury hunting and outdoor pursuits, which is the hallmark of Holland & Holland.

The exterior features a unique colour scheme "Tintern Green" which was only available on the Holland and Holland and features the Holland & Holland logo on the tailgate.
The wheels were also finished with highlights of the distinctive colour, complementing the overall aesthetic of the vehicle.

Inside, the Range Rover Holland & Holland offers exceptional craftsmanship. The upholstery is made of high-quality brown "saddle" leather, complemented by genuine walnut wood trim made from the same material as the Holland and Holland gun stocks. These in turn were embossed with metal engravings as found adorning the makers firearms. In a nod to gun barrels, the door handles and other trims are finished in a "blued" metal. The interior design focuses on comfort and luxury, with the addition of comfortable seating and fine detailing throughout.

One of the standout features is the picnic table, which is integrated into the boot floor of the vehicle. This is a nod to the brand’s connection with shooting sports, and it’s designed to be used out in the countryside, making it the perfect vehicle for outdoor enthusiasts.
The vehicle also includes other luxury features, such as advanced infotainment systems, premium sound systems, and custom interior fittings.

The Range Rover Holland & Holland retained the same exceptional off-road capability and refinement found in the standard Range Rover line up. It was only available with a V8 engine, offering a blend of power and smooth driving dynamics.
As with other Range Rovers, it also came with full-time four-wheel drive and air suspension, ensuring outstanding off-road capability and comfort, making it a highly capable vehicle for both urban and rural settings.

The 2000 Range Rover Holland & Holland was designed for those who wanted the practicality and capability of a Range Rover but with the added touch of bespoke luxury. It was a limited edition, making it a rare collector’s item today. The collaboration between Land Rover and Holland & Holland brought together two iconic British brands, combining the rugged, off-road prowess of the Range Rover with the refined, luxurious appeal of Holland & Holland.
