This has to be one of the best examples available of this beautiful Mk1 Lotus Cortina. The condition throughout is amazing due to the high quality of restoration undertaken by the current owner at a no expense spared undertaking. The car was built for Historic club road rally timed events and so has had purposeful light use which is reflected in the condition of the body work and paintwork, which is in excellent unmarked condition. Ermine White Paintwork with the correct Sherwood Green Flash and Lotus badging gives it the original correct look whilst showing its Road rally persona via the Minilite alloy wheels and door race number decal. Interior follows the rally theme with a fitted Roll cage, Corbeau Bucket Seats, Willans 3 point harnesses, Leather 3 spoke steering wheel, period look gear shifter, and BRANTZ timing gear, map reading light, and battery isolation switch. The front screen has a period looking top tint. The bonnet is secured with additional rubber tie downs, and in the rear boot is the Battery box, a foam filled fuel tank, a twin fuel pump setup, spare wheels and tool kit.
The twin cam engine has been fully rebuilt to original specification, the rear axle with LSD was rebuilt at the same time, and new rear GAZ struts installed. The underside is as clean as the engine bay and everything throughout - mechanical, suspension, Brakes etc has been subject to refurbishment or renewal.
