Description
Yes this car is as good in the flesh as it looks!
Rare 80’s colour combo. Chiffon white with full leather and champagne wheels.
The Chiffon white cars from this year when ordered came with amber glass too which I’ve tried to show in the pictures.
I bought this car over 4 years ago from a local guy on the owners club. The car was mechanically great following a light restoration in 2016, but the paintwork was tiered and had been polished through in lots of places. It had clearly been very loved, if not a little ‘too’ loved with being over polished.
The car had a full windows out respray at the time, costing nearly £6500 with the replacement of some window seals etc.
the paintwork is absolutely stunning! It has an incredible deep shine and really stands out. The car looks brand new!
The car then went to a Porsche specialist for a full service and a new ignition module. They also fitted a new sunroof switch.
I then sold the car to a collector I know and he has owned the car for around 3. 5years (he is the owner on the logbook). He approached me last week and asked me to sell this and a couple of other cars, his main collection is much older stuff than this and he says it’s too modern!
The tyres and brakes are great. The gear box changes up and down smoothly just as it should. The engine fires first time and sounds incredible!
This being the first revision model of the 928 has the larger 4. 7 V8. The rubbers and spoiler are also in beautiful condition. The sunroof works smoothly and moves very quickly as it should. The interior is all completely original apart from some ‘honest’ wear to the drivers bolster and a Kenwood head unit has been fitted.
The last time the car had an MOT and couple of years ago it passed with no advisories and has done around 25 miles since then.
The car is now tax and mot exempt and also ULEZ free!
The history of the car was extensive but unfortunately the owner cannot find it (it may turn up) the Porsche specialist used in 2021 will also have their service on records.
The only other negative is that the boot lock seized so it was drilled out to open the boot. It works with a screwdriver but will need a new barrel. I thought I’d ordered one when I had the car so will have a good look.
The car is a real eye full and really stands apart from all the other silver, blue and maroon ones of the time. It gets a lot of attention and is a pleasure to drive.
