Description

Hello, selling my 1955 Morris Minor Convertible (converted in the 1990’s by Charles Ware of Bath)

Someone ran in the back of my boot lid and as my insurance would not fix it as their recommended bodywork shops do not fix old cars they made me a payment in lieu. So I am selling it with a new boot lid needed if you want or drive and enjoy as it is. I have been doing this with the mind to maybe replace it in in the spring.

The previous owner had the car for 20 years and in that time they replaced the engine with an unleaded recon one with approx 9000 miles since the change. At the same time it was treated to a recon gearbox with a new clutch.

In 2021 the brakes were all replaced along with newly upholstered leather front seats as it was to be used for their Daughter’s wedding.
Lots of hand written notes in their ownership for very good maintenance approximately £5000 of expenditure.

The Morris drives fantastic. It starts on the turn of the key and has a great gearbox. The hood is an excellent vinyl one in great condition. The back seat is original which adds to the charm of this 70 year old Morris showing it’s had a life.

At the time of the wedding it had a respray. The body had bumps which the owner did not want taken out as his opinion was that this was part of the cars life on the road. Also the carpets are in great condition.

It’s a rare 1955 split screen Morris convertible although not original it’s a rarity. It’s had its addition over the years engine fronts wings etc but it has been around a long time. It’s had welding done when needed and to my knowledge it’s been garage kept for the last 20 years.

It has its squeaks etc and I think it’s due a good grease underneath. The trunnions were done some time ago and even thou it’s not had many miles since that would be a job I would be doing of keeping.

I have priced it at a bargain price and it will go to the first person who wants a Morris convertible with a great history to drive and enjoy.
I did a few journeys last summer of over a 100 miles and it did not miss a beat.

I have priced it at a fantastic price for someone to have a bargain for Spring. This will my 4th classic of my collection I have sold in the last month. I am dramatically reducing my collection. After this sale I will still have 5 and I want to start using them this Summer and not keeping them in expensive Classic car storage. Great History
