The Honda dating certificate indicates the manufacturing date to be 29th June 1971, with the frame and engine serial numbers as detailed above. The bike originally lived in New York State where it was on the road until at least the year 2000. It was imported into the UK late 2012, and purchased by first UK owner January 2013. It was fully restored between January 2013 and January 2015, its new registration number being issued on the 18th March 2015. I purchased the bike in January 2017. There is an extensive history file including all the restoration invoices and receipts totalling £10495. 99 (made up of David Silver - £3685. 44, CMS - £4367. 56, and Miscellaneous - £2442. 99)
Work carried as part of the restoration includes:
Powder coating frame, swing arm, etc.
Engine and gearbox stripped, inspected and rebuilt.
Repaint of fuel tank, side panels, and headlight bowl.
Seat base powder coated and recovered.
Brightwork re-chromed.
Wheels rebuilt by Central Wheel Components.
Speedometer and tachometer rebuilt with new faces, cases and seals.
During my ownership the bike has been dry stored in a nice cosy integral garage and used sparingly on dry sunny days. I have just serviced the bike, including fresh oil, brake fluid, cleaning and balancing the carburettors, etc.
